Just before Christmas I had the delight of taking

Just before Christmas I had the delight of taking part in my Agricultural high school’s Culture festival. It was incredible seeing all the students hard work as well as taking part in a tradition tea ceremony. The calligraphy club did a giant display, the farming classes were selling traditional food and home grown plants plus much more activities. A fun fact, the school has a tradition of throwing Moche (a rice sweet) at people from the 2nd floor, if you catch one it’s seen as good luck. 🤞I took part in the throwing with the other teachers and was a lot of fun!

Day 5 in Japan, I wake up to find my new apartment

Day 5 in Japan, I wake up to find my new apartment has a view of the ocean with some of Japan’s many islands in view (definitely worth a trip to explore). I’m introduced to one of the schools I’ll be working from and I receive a warm welcome from both teachers and students. Even commuting during rush-hour is peaceful.

Day 4 in Japan. I move to my new come city Karatsu

Day 4 in Japan. I move to my new come city Karatsu. Everywhere I look, I see luscious green mountains, with nature on a scale that is unfathomable compared to the UK.

Day 3 in Japan, I spend the evening in Saga City getting registered as a citizen. The city is incredible, both during the day and the night, there’s tranquility and harmony like no their city I’ve ever experienced. Everyone is peaceful and mindful of others around them. Photos taken at 9pm

Day one, Tokyo of orientation. After an almost 20 hour flight, I was finally able to experience Japan for the first time! Although I didn’t have a chance to see much, the architecture of Tokyo is incredible, the mixture of different styles in such close proximity to each other really makes it a truly unique place
